Ubunchu Manga (Free)

REVIEW - "The Manga of the world's cutest Linux: Ubuntu!"

This app is meant for any comic lover, especially those who are fans of the Japanese comics, manga! The comics were specifically designed for mobile devices, so users can rest assured that the comics will be as high quality as they are in real life. Ubunchu is a manga focused on a romantic school comedy, written by Hiroshi Seo. I opened this app and was greeted with a cute image of two school girls, as well as the credits page. There was a disclaimer that warned users that this comic read from left to right, or the "Western" way of reading. Authentic mangas are read from right to left, but that version is also available for download if users wish.

I found the storyline to be pretty funny—school girls had just bought a new computer and the comic is about them choosing which operating system to use, Windows, Linux or Mac. The graphics were a nice but I would have liked them in color. This manga would be great for anyone who loves computers and has a bit of the "computer geek" in them. The story line was easy to follow but wasn't that entertaining to me. I would have liked the ability to save my place in the comic or skip through the pages quicker. There was a bit of a lag in between turning each page, so hopefully in future versions they can make this app faster.

Overall, the design of this manga was great, the story was an easy read and entertaining. This app is great for anyone who wants to get a taste of the Japanese comic world in a Westernized format or someone who simply loves great graphics and an enjoyable storyline.
