Why I Prefer A Wall Street Journal Subscription

There was a time when I avoided financial news on the whole. This was due to the fact that I felt inadequate to digest financial news. After all, I do not have a financial background, and often felt lost just listening to analysts talk about stocks. Today, I no longer feel this way, and I'm proud to say that nowadays I even have a Wall Street Journal subscription.

I would never have thought of myself as someone who would become a reader of the Wall Street Journal. In fact, I never had an interest in this paper and just assumed it was not for me. But then one day, I was in an office where there was nothing else to read. That was the first time I actually took some time to really examine the paper.

It was then that I realized tthat he paper was quite easy to read. Much of the news covered by the paper is not necessarily financial. In fact, I would say a great portion of coverage contains standard news stories, even though there is a noticeable financial slant. And the coverage and stories were all generally excellent. For the first time, I realized that the Wall Street Journal is not just for people in the financial world, but was a good overall paper for anyone who wanted decent news coverage.

The paper, however is not cheap, and with a newsstand price of $2 an issue, I thought it would be too expensive for me to read regularly. But the fact is that a Wall Street Journal subscription starts for as little as $1.99 a week for digital editions. You may find that this price is lower than the price of many other major papers like USA Today. After giving it some thought, I decided to go ahead and obtain a subscription since the price was right.

If you have not checked out financial newspapers, believing, as I once did, that they are too difficult to understand, then I urge you to give the Wall Street Journal a chance. .
