TV Series in 2010

2010 has been another great year for those who like watching TV series. While the film industry keeps on shrinking, the TV series industry keeps on growing.

Many of us would say that this is due to the economic crisis going on since 2008. It is cheaper to watch TV series at home than buying DVD’s or going to the cinema and buy something extra on the way. People spend longer time at home because it is ‘cheaper’ and there is less need to go outside for entertainment.

The popularity of TV series is also due to the quality of the content. There is more creativity involved and it has become the number one entertainment on tv, getting a bigger audience than other tv programs.

Movies have become less popular. There is a big crisis going on in the film industry. The film industry is making less money every year. We don’t buy DVD’s anymore and we go less often to the cinema. All this, summed up with the economic crisis, lower the budget for making good films.

The TV industry is doing everything possible to go along with the Internet. Internet is changing the whole entertainment industry. Many TV shows are using Social Media like Facebook and Twitter to keep their audience. And we now tend to use more our computers to watch TV.

The trend for the coming year is more entertainment from great TV series. Why not? Isn’t it great to spend our free time at home watching our favorite TV series?
