The Samsung S7070 Diva was released in February 2010 and has received a warm reception from fashion conscious users, whilst also remaining a very functional handset. Featuring touch screen technology, digital camera, and social networking integration, the S7070 Diva certainly appears to tick all the boxes.

Weighing just 94 grams and measuring 13.4mm thick, the unit is light and slim, meaning users can make the most of the touch screen experience. The 2.8 inch TFT resistive touch screen displays an impressive 16 million colours at 240x320 pixels, offering high quality display of on screen images. An accelerometer sensor kicks in when the handset is tilted, and rotates the on screen image accordingly so it can be viewed in both landscape and portrait orientations.

Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages by vibration and ringing, and even have the option to assign MP3 music files as ringtones, allowing customisation of the phone. A speakerphone system is installed for hands free communication. This features DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) for improved sound quality.

GPRS and EDGE (both class 12) provide the initial means of connecting to networks. Bluetooth v2.1 is installed as standard offering a means to share files and data with friends, provided they have a compatible handset and are in the same vicinity. For connecting the phone to a computer, a micro USB (v2.0) connection allows users to transfer and back up files and data such as music and contacts.

Music and video files are catered for in a variety of file formats, thanks to the media player built into the S7070 Diva. A range of games is installed as standard with the option to download extra games if required, and stereo FM radio player offer entertainment alternatives.

The 3.15 mega pixels digital camera operates at a pixel resolution of 2048x1536 pixels for good quality still images, and the process of taking them is simplified somewhat thanks to the addition of autofocus. As an alternative to taking still photos, the camera can also shoot video in QVGA quality.

Fans of sites such as FaceBook will appreciate the handset's social networking integration which offers live updates, so you can stay in the know throughout the day. Other useful features include an organiser, photo editor, voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input.

The handset is available in Black And White, adding to it's appeal. The popularity of this handset seems based largely on the styling and entertainment features, however it's everyday functionality is certainly impressive.
