The recently released Nokia X6 includes an array of futuristic technology combined with an aesthetically pleasing style. Compact and lightweight, this unit has become an extremely popular option for many since its release. Incorporating such delights as a large touch screen as well as internet access, the reason for its popularity is not difficult to define.

One of the central tenements of this particular mobile phone is its processing capabilities which are ably assisted by the ARM 11 434 MHz processor which is integrated into the unit. When taking into account the operating system utilised by this mobile phone which is the Symbian series 60, version 9.4, it is easy to see why a growing number of consumers are being tempted by its functionality.

The display screen, offers exceptional colour representation, due mainly to the fact that it is able to display up to 16 million colours within a pixel screen size of 360 x 640 pixels. Large in nature, at 3.2 inches the addition of proximity and accelerometer sensors, to automate tasks such as image rotation and battery saving shut-off, simply adds to its appeal. As a final curtain call, the inclusion of a scratch resistant glass surface is a novel and unique feature.

The Nokia X6 blue comes with a more than adequate memory storage capacity of 32 GB, which allows it to hold an impressive number of media files, call records and files. Connectivity is provided by a variety of means, which include class 32 versions of GPRS and EDGE, as well as HSDPA and Wi Fi for internet connectivity. Speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps are available, in addition to the ability to utilise available hotspots. MicroUSB and Bluetooth connections complete the connectivity package included with this phone

For effective image taking capability, the larger the resolution of the camera the better quality image, this particular phone contains a 5.0 megapixel camera which also utilises Carl Zeiss optics. The quality of the optics in conjunction with the inclusion of auto focus and dual LED flash capability ensures that images taken are the best quality possible, not taking into account the individual taking the photograph. Geo-tagging is also another feature which is included within this package, and offers the means to tag imagery by location. For video purposes, this camera provides VGA quality video capture at 30 frames per second, whilst a secondary camera provides QCIF quality at 15 frames per second.

In addition to the comprehensive functionality already reviewed, the handset comes with an MP4/MP3 player, satellite navigation, organiser, photo editor and voice command facilities.

The blue Nokia X6 is one of two versions available, the other being red on black. As testified by the popularity of the unit, Nokia seem to have come up with a winning combination of form and functionality.
