Spicy Grilled Shrimp Recipe

There are many herbs and spices that may be used to create a variety of flavours in grilled shrimp. These grilled shrimp recipes are easy, but will be filled with impressive flavour. A few hours in a spicy marinade and the shrimp will be ready to be grilled to succulent perfection. The first recipe requires shell-on shrimp for extra flavour, however, these grilled shrimp may be done with peeled ones as well. The second recipe requires a broiler, however, you may easily take the shrimp out to the grill instead.

Spicy Grilled Shrimp Recipes
1.Spicy Grilled Shrimp
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 8 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tbsp Louisiana hot sauce
1/2 bunch Italian parsley, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced finely
1 lemon, juiced
1 tbsp ketchup
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 pounds large shrimp, deveined, but un-peeled
Bamboo skewers, soaked in water overnight

Directions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, hot sauce, parsley, garlic, lemon juice, ketchup, cayenne, salt, and black pepper. Place the shrimp in a large zip top plastic bag, and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag, and then refrigerate for 2 hours.

Remove shrimp after the 2 hours, and drain the marinade skewer the shrimp on the bamboo skewers. Preheat grill on medium heat. Grill shrimp for approximately 3 minutes per side, or until done . Serve hot, warm or cold as preferred .
2.Spicy Cajun BBQ Shrimp
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine (Butter is best )
1/4 cup bottled hickory flavoured BBQ sauce
2 lb. Unshelled medium to large shrimp
1/2 cup dry sherry
Cayenne pepper
Black pepper
Garlic powder

Preparation
Turn on broiler and melt butter in a 13x9 inch pan, or other broiler proof dish. Take pan from oven and mix in BBQ sauce and lemon juice. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Spread out in pan. Sprinkle cayenne pepper, black pepper and garlic powder generously over the shrimp, noting that the shell is on the shrimp and not all seasoning will be absorbed. Broil shrimp five inches from the heat source for four minutes. Turn shrimp. Add sherry and broil for four minutes longer.
