Priyanka Gandhi Vadra On the role of politicians: It will never be fruitful if only one section of people, people belonging to just one caste, one religion move ahead. If that happens, there will be riots, there will be bickering, there will be sadness. If we have to move head, we have to move ahead together. You are wise people. The kind of issues you face, if a person from the city or a politician were to face, they would run away ‘with their tails between their legs' in merely 2 days. The kind of problems you have to go through each day, without electricity, without water, your children fall ill and there are no health facilities, no roads. It is to address these issues that leaders are chosen. You should not vote for those people who do not serve you, those who don't solve your problems, don't better your lives. We all talk about corruption. We see that many corrupt persons have got tickets. It's true that political parties give them tickets, but who ensures that they win? Why do they win? Do you support them? You need to think about this. You should vote for those who solve your problems, those who serve you, those who believe that serving you is their religion. No other person should have the guts to even come and deliver a speech in your presence. You are doing them a favor, by giving them power. They are prospering when they should be serving you. You have to understand that this is your right. Don't vote for a person who will not serve you.

Politicians from various parties must be coming to you. They must be asking you to vote for them on the basis of your beliefs, your religion and your caste. I'll not ask you to vote for us on the basis of caste or religion, nor will I ask for your support on that basis. I will ask you to vote for us on the basis of development, and only on development. I'll ask you to support us for the next 5 years, for your own good.
I represent the Congress Party, a party which believes that each and every individual of our country is equal. Our party feels that each and every individual, each and every community in this country is equal. We don't treat any religion or caste differently. We don't give preference to any particular community and desire only their progress. Our party wants that the entire country, no matter which religion or caste they belong to, moves forward together and brings about development.
