Call Center Industry of the Philippines: From Beginnings to Success

The call center industry of the Philippines became successful because of its diverse collection of Business Answering Service that caters to the every need of every type of business in and out of the country. It was because of this idea that the Philippines were recently recognized as the call center capital of the world, outpacing India in both manpower and infrastructure.

Beginnings of a Successful Industry in the Philippines
Before the industry was known as a provider of call center and Business Answering Service, the industry was first known as a plain provider of email response and managing services. Though the service was useful, the industry was not as big as the call center industry today.

The industry, however, had shifted when a number of third-party agencies had started to offer live answering services to their clients. This insinuated a new demand in the market that many third-party companies had also started to offer. Eventually, the demand had grown so much that the number of call center companies and agencies had grown, which prompted the founding of the call center industry of the Philippines.


Rising Industry in the Philippines
The BPO or Business Process Outsource is a growing industry in Philippines, and majority of the market share that makes up this whole industry is the call center industry of the Philippines. Since its founding, the call center industry had grown significantly in the Philippine market that many industry experts had started to recognize the industry as the fastest-growing industry in the Philippines.

Part of what caused this continuous growth is because of the industry’s diverse collection of Business Answering Service that allowed not only caters to the needs of large companies and corporations, but also to the needs of small and medium businesses in the Philippines, particularly when the call center industry had introduced call center services such as order taking services and reservation services.

Call Center Capital of the World
Due to the increasing and healthy growth of the call center industry of the Philippines, many foreign investors had started to outsource or start their own call center businesses in the Philippines which allowed the industry to expand in the global market.


Though the competition was high, the Philippines gained a lot of respect in the global market due to its infrastructure as well as the ingenuity of Filipinos in providing customer relations services in fluent English, which was rare even with India.

Eventually, the Philippines had outpaced India both in manpower and in infrastructure. This led to the Philippines being recognized in the global market as the call center capital of the world.
