Founding and Growth of the Call Center Industry

The call center industry of the Philippines is considered today as the largest contributor of call center services in the global market, placing the Philippines as the call center capital of the world. However, the industry wasn’t always as successful in the past compared to what the industry is recognized today. Many industry experts had also said that the call center industry wasn’t always a provider of Live Answering Service in the market.

Founding of the Call Center Industry
The call center industry was founded more than a decade ago, however, before the industry had started to offer call center services, the industry was first known as a provider of email response and managing services. Though useful in the past, the industry wasn’t as successful as the call center industry today.

However, the industry had shifted dramatically when a number of third-party companies had started to offer call center services to their clients along with their usual email management services. Gradually, the demand had shifted from email management, to live answering service due to the fact that these services are far more useful compared to email management.


Eventually, the demand for call center services had outpaced the demand for email management that many third-party companies had shifted their services to offer Live Answering Service to their clients. This prompted the start of the call center industry of the Philippines.

Growth of the Call Center Industry
Due to the increasing demand for call center services in the Philippine market, the number of call center companies in the Philippines had also increased dramatically to accommodate the growing demands for call center services. However, what made the call center industry more successful is because of its collection of services which had significantly evolved to accommodate the growing demands for Live Answering Service.

From its initial collection of call center services, the industry had later introduced a number of new call center services which mostly involves a variety of customer relation services such as order takings services, travel services, reservation services, educational services, and many more call center services, to other business-to-business answering services such as online business to customer support, online business to business support..


Because of this, the industry was able to penetrate a number of markets in the Philippines, resulting in a massive expansion of the industry in the market. Eventually, the number of foreign investors had grown in the Philippines due to the industry’s healthy and rapid growth in the Philippines, which eventually led to the growth of the call center industry into the global market.
