If you have skin problems such as a scar, stretch marks or those dreaded wrinkles, then I think you might find what I have to say very helpful!

I recently came across this small instrument to roll away marked or wrinkles skin. So I bought one and am currently 'testing' it out, it's still early days but so far so good.

What Is The Derma Roller?

Skin needling is an ancient skin needling tool which gently pricks the top layer of your skin, it doesn't hurt and you won't bleed.

It consists of about 190 micro-needles which are approximately 1 millimetre long. You can get different sized needles depending on your skin texture or what the intention of the device is.

Acne scars are very problematic, therefore you might need longer needles as these will perforate the skin in more depth giving more rejuvenation.

What Do You Mean 'Rejuvenate' The Skin?

You need to get rid of the top layer of your skin, this is called the epidermis. The epidermis will then rejuvenate (renew itself) more quickly than its original 30 days.

Have you come across the expression 'shedd your skin'? This means your skin is rejuvenating, i.e. the top dead skin cells drop off and new fresh ones are replaced. However, if you have scars, wrinkles of stretch marks then this area of skin makes it harder to rejuvenate.

This is where the derma roller comes in as it helps to rejuvenate your skin layers at a deeper level and at a faster pace.

What Skin Needling Does For Your Skin

What this starts is a process where more collagen is produced. What is going on here is that you have now damaged your epidermis, your collagen starts working in overdrive to help replace those damaged skin cells.

If you are following me here, you should realise that by using the derma roller 3/4 times a week, this results in your skin 'renewing' itself 3/4 times a week. Therefore, your wrinkles/scar tissue will eventually be shed and replaced with new plump skin cells.
