Without much doubt, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Mel Gibson have changed the
landscape of cinema for the better in recent decades. However, as we head into
our second decade of the 21st century, who has the staying power and ability to
continue his torrid run into the next 10 years?

Most people have seen a Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, or Mel Gibson movie so their
outreach is definitely dynamic to say the least. However, as of recently, two
of these powerful actors have seemingly fallen off and one more than the other.

Can you guess who? Well, in terms of mere age, Mel Gibson has taken many a step
back due to his recent run ins with the law regarding slanderous commentary and
his well documented alcohol abuse.

Moreover, Brad Pitt is still a very bankable name but he has not consistently
put out as many blockbuster films as Tom Cruise has in the last ten years!
While this is an opinion piece, it doesn't stray to far from concrete box office
sales in terms of money made.

Movies like Mission Impossible kept his name afloat as Hollywoods top cinema
name in terms of major studios having the most confidence in any given film he
is involved with.

In addition, from risky business, to top gun, to cocktail, to his compelling
coupling with Dustin Hoffman in rain man, his start in the eighties and nineties
dwarfed the preceding two actors.

In terms of Brad Pitt, his films of the last ten years are as much of a
barometer as his future than anything else. You could make an argument that his
oceans 11, 12, and 13 are comparable to Tom's missions impossible movies but
had a much larger star studded cast with a lot of money to spread around pre
filming that it affected the oceans profitability overall.

As far as Mel Gibson, as of late, his films have been virtually non-existent
because he hasn't been involved in any major projects since apocalypto in '06.
Before this, the passion of Christ in '04 did well at the box office but as far
as his future is concerned, look for more supporting roles instead of starring
roles all around.

All in all, Tom Cruise runs atop the list of future bankable acting commodities
with Pitt coming in at a close second. Yes, despite their increasing age, both
have a bright future indeed as stars in major Hollywood blockbusters!
