I wouldn't ordinarily say this, but should we actually watch tomorrow's two-hour special featuring Nadya Suleman, the California Octomom, who gave birth to a litter of eight babies, and is clearly trying to create a media career as well?It may take a village to raise a child, but it may take a lucrative TV contract to raise 14 of them!Yes, we understand that reality TV is all the rage, but is this actually reality? I doubt it.Please tell us that we are not so desperate a society for diversions that we'd shower our attention on a woman so addicted to childbirth, and avoid work and responsibility.

Please assure us that this sort of thing is not worthy of our time. The Octomom, of course, is the single, unemployed, California woman who although she already had six kids, then gave birth to eight more, all of them conceived through invitro fertilization. She must have been planning this all along, that is, to try to cash in on a new reality TV show with her as the star as she tries to tries to be a parent to 14 children.

The only apparent thing that most people see is that there's no way she can possibly pull this off. When pesky journalists had the nerve to ask her how she intended to support all these children, she indicated that God would provide as though the Almighty were in charge of the food stamp program. Plus, she said she was going back to school to pursue a master's degree in counseling and would then use student loans to support the family. Who would be crazy enough to go to this woman to ever seek counseling? Strangely, in her television interview last winter, it was all about her! It was what she wanted and needed.

She seemed oddly calm and serene, oblivious to the screams of angry Americans at her image on television. Now, she even admits that she has screwed up her own life as well as those of her kids. She then said, "What was I thinking?" It was almost like she had bought a sweater or a coat that she decided not to keep rather than dooming her brood to a life of poverty and neglect. Fox executive, Mike Darnell even admits that it's 'a little bit of a train wreck, and it's entertaining to watch".We'll see if it's a train wreck, but we don't have to sit there and watch it happen in front of our faces.
