With an impressive touch screen and functionality to match, the Samsung S5560 is a handset that is proving to be popular. Released in November 2009 this handset which measures 107 mm x 52 mm wide and is only 13 mm thick has proven to be an eye-catching handset. Lightweight at only 95 g, ensures this handset is simple to utilise and comfortable to hold. Its intuitive user interface provides efficient and effective means of accessing functionality.


The handset comes with a 3.0 inch TFT resistive touch screen. The display screen is able to display up to 256,000 colours at a pixel screen size of 240 x 400 pixels. This screen comes with an accelerometer sensor which is able to automatically rotate images dependent upon the orientation of the handset as well as the image in question. A 5 mega pixel camera is provided with this handset which operates at 2592 x 1900 pixels and comes with auto focus, smile and blink detection as well as image stabilisation. An LED flash ensures illumination. The camera also provides the ability to record and playback video. This is a useful alternative which has become far more popular in recent years.


Communication is provided by a variety of connections which include GPRS, EDGE, Blue tooth and USB. The handset comes with Wi Fi which is a useful element which ensures that internet connectivity can be achieved by utilising nationally available hotspots.


Entertainment is provided by virtue of an MP3/MP4 player and stereo FM radio with RDS. The audio and video media player will play all major formats of audio and video files, whilst the radio provides the ability to listen to regional and national radio broadcasts whilst on the move. The handset also provides an organiser, to keep abreast of important dates and appointments as well as a voice memo facility for taking audio notes.



The Samsung S5560, much like the Samsung B7610 Omnia Pro is an accomplished handset which although recently released has many features which are prevalent in other handsets. This does not deter from this unique and stylish offering. The handset is an excellently composed handset with a range of features which will appeal too many.
