Users can customise the ringing styles of the phone with the option to download polyphonic ringtones as well as utilize MP3 files for the purpose. Vibration alerts users to incoming calls and messages as an alternative. Class 32 GPRS and EDGE provide the initial means of network connection, whilst HSDPA and HSUPA kick in where 3G coverage is available. For a faster internet connection, Wi-Fi connectivity utilizes the signal provided by local wireless internet routers dependent on location. For transferring files between compatible devices in the same area, Bluetooth is installed, whilst a micro USB (v2.0) connection allows users to connect the phone to a computer for transferring and backing up files.

A wide variety of media files in both music and video formats are accommodated by the media player built in to the E72 Silver. Alternative entertainment applications include downloadable games and a stereo FM radio player.

The video call feature is included, whereby one can film themselves whilst talking on the phone, and the recipient can view live streaming, and vice versa. Both parties must have compatible handsets, however.

Music and video files as well as photos and other data can be stored in handsets pre-installed 250MB of storage. Should this not be adequate though, a micro SD slot can accommodate a memory card of up to 16GB.
