The LG GM205 Black features a 2 megapixel camera which captures both images and video at 15 frames per second. It is a basic candybar design handset with a 2 inch TFT display screen and a 14-key traditional mobile phone keypad with shortcut and calling keys.
The phone offers a microSD cardslot capable of up to 2 gigabytes worth of storage memory in addition to its internal storage memory of 14 megabytes. It is capable of storing the most recent 50 dialled, received and missed calls and storing up to 1000 phonebook entries with Photocall showing contacts by face as well as name and number. The memory also comes in useful for storing the many photos and videos which can be captured on the 2 megapixel camera, and music tracks also.
The handset has Class 10 EDGE and GPRS data networking, and includes a WAP 2.0 XHTML web browser while also being capable of providing support for email, so messages can be picked up from anywhere still. It is a quad band handset meaning that it can not only be used abroad, but on most continents, which includes the mobile networks in Europe and the USA. Additionally, the phone naturally offers both text and multimedia messaging. Connectivity for easy file sharing is made possible with the Bluetooth 2.0 featured and the USB 2.0 also.
The GM205 Black offers a music player with sorted tracks as well as video playback. The handset has Dolby Surround Sound technology with stereo speakers and one woofer to enjoy the music or live news and music from the integrated FM radio with RDS support. For private enjoyment, the user has the option of either using headphones through the 3.5mm audio jack or alternately through a wireless Bluetooth stereo headset. It also has a variety of games featured including Sudoku and ZooZooClub.
A calendar is also featured on the handset allowing the user to keep track of events and make appointments easily on the move, as well as MP3 and polyphonic ringtones providing the capability to have crystal clear sound quality ringtones, and select favourite (MP3) tunes as ringtones.
