The HTC Hero Brown arrives into the fray

The HTC Hero Brown offers a luxury mobile phone with a multitude of features that engages its user. The functions are encased within a solid looking but stylish exterior which is sleek and defined. It has an unusual angled bottom edge to the phone and a large display screen which is full of colour and efficient to the extreme.


The 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen displays 65,000 colours at a size of 320 x 480 pixels. It incorporates the majority of the front of the phone and is responsive. In fact the multi-touch input feature included with the phone is simple to use and abundantly useful. For those who wish for an alternative means of inputting data, the HTC Hero Brown provides handwriting recognition and a trackball feature to navigate around the functions. A Qualcomm MSM 7200A 528 MHz processor is the main processing element of the phone and is a stable and reliable unit. The phone utilises the Android operating system, which is version 1.5. This is a relatively new style of operating system which has had a great deal of press. The phone externally measures in at 112mm x 56.2mm wide. It is 14.4 mm thick and weighs 135 g.



The phone comes with a 5 mega pixel camera that operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Autofocus is included which provides the means to take a snap shot without worrying about whether it is in focus or not. Video recording and playback are also offered as a viable alternative to photos. The phone comes with an MP3 player which can play MP3, AC+ and WAV files.


Connectivity is supplied in a variety of forms including GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA and Wi-Fi this provides the means to access the net at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps as well as utilising the available hot spots for web surfing. Blue tooth and miniUSB offer file sharing and synchronisation, if required. GPS with A-GPS support is the satellite navigation portion of the phone.
