Many a family pet will live forever on the mantel because of the special talent of this female artist. She certainly affirms the fact that any dog, pony, cat, or white rat's master will believe that his pet is the best in the world. The mantel will soon have the likeness of the pets in it but before that, proud pet owners have to painstakingly coax and coo these darlings in order for them to pose right in front of the shutter. Sam's mouth yawns while Scottie's ear droops and this is what greets the camera. It was a shame that Willy got obscured by dark shadows whereas Blue boy, could not find his foot at all. The outcome was undesirable when it was supposed to be photographic remembrance of the pet masterpiece.

The lady can remedy the situation by painting a portrait of the favorite pet from a photograph that will reflect the special personality of the animal. Working from a subject's photograph has become a very commonly practiced trend as seen in the illustrators of today. Even when photos pet lovers bring to their portraitists are off centered, fuzzy or feature poor lighting, a well experienced artist is equipped with correcting such faults. Painting human beings can be a big challenged for her while she loves creating animal portraits.

The goal is the catch the subject's spirit. Anyone that would scrutinize her work would really state that the subject seems happy, depressed or whatever feelings in the portrait. She is very much pleased with the portrait. Pictures taken of human beings would normally be the same with some pet snapshots, with very little of the person's personality or character shining through while composition and lighting leave a lot to be desired. Oftentimes, the photo quality won't allow enlarging a print to framing size and be hung on a sturdy wall. That's where the portrait painter comes in. She would take a small snapshot to create a very intimate, warm and personable portrait.

She attains effectiveness by using her creative ability to change tone and color. She is a master of creating subtle enhancements but she never deviates from the real things. Based on a client's medium request, she works on their portrait. In a portrait of the local sheriff, for example, she used a combination of pen and ink and watercolor. Most of the artworks she's done uses such a procedure.

In the portrait, you will find that its shading is done by so many little dots and you will notice this if you look close enough. She avers that about 100,000 dots can be found in the portrait of the sheriff. Using a rapidograph pen, she demonstrated how the effect was achieved. Being particular with details, this pen can truly help as it can easily be moved in different directions as you draw and it also does not splatter the like old ink in drawing pens. Furthermore, it is smooth and quite easy to manipulate.

A full fledged artist is one who has developed his own style. Definite realism is indeed this lady's style. It has steadily developed from her school days, when her favorite subjects were horses, to her present preoccupation with portraits. She has gained wisdom from countless participation in art fairs and shows.

Inquiries would find her thanks to some of her works displayed in a Legion hall, a college library or perhaps an exclusive collection. And such is the story of her paintings' fame throughout the Midwest. Commercial artwork and nudes on velvet were exciting but she was never got any satisfaction the way painting people and pets had given her.
