"Glee" will be back for more musical adventures.

FOX has ordered a second season of its Golden-Globe nominated comedy; it was announced on Jan. 11 at the Television Critics Association Press Tour.

"We've loved 'Glee' ever since it was a pilot script, so it's been an incredible thrill to watch the show take root and see audiences embrace these characters in such a huge way this season," said FOX entertainment president Kevin Reilly. "The show is a true and rare gem in television. We couldn't be more proud of what Ryan Murphy and the 'Glee' team have created so far, and can't wait to see what they come up with for Season Two."

It was also announced that the show is launching a nationwide search in February to fill three new roles for the upcoming season. Auditions will be open to "amateur individuals," between the ages of 16 and 26. The search will be chronicled in a multi-part special. The new Gleeks will be revealed on the second season premiere episode.

"'Glee' has always been about finding new fresh exciting voices," said creator Ryan Murphy. "Anybody and everybody now has a chance to be on a show about talented underdogs. No matter who you are -- a Broadway talent or a struggling singing waiter with a dream in the Midwest -- you now have an opportunity to make that dream come true by posting your talent video and showing us what you can do. All the roles will be chosen from the video audition process, which is exciting and unprecedented."

For those of you who don't know about Glee, here's a little summary: The series follows an optimistic teacher, WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison), who - against all odds and a malicious cheerleading coach - attempts to save McKinley High's Glee Club from obscurity, while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential. It's a tall order when the brightest stars of the group include KURT (Chris Colfer), a soprano who hits a high note in fashion; MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a larger-than-life diva with a voice to match; ARTIE (Kevin McHale), a geeky guitarist who rocks and rolls; and TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), a punk rocker who hides behind her stutter and blue hair extensions.

Will is determined to do whatever it takes to make Glee great again, but his only ally is fellow teacher and germaphobe EMMA PILLSBURY (Jayma Mays). Everyone else around him thinks he's nuts - from his tough-as-nails wife TERRI SCHUESTER (Jessalyn Gilsig) to McKinley's scheming cheerleading coach SUE SYLVESTER (Jane Lynch) - but he's out to prove them wrong.

Featuring a soundtrack of hit songs from past and present, GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk and Dante Di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan serves as co-executive producer. Murphy directed the pilot.
