The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is one of three new models form the range, the other two are miniature versions of this larger touch screen model called the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro. The Sony X10 Mini offers nearly all of the same features and technology of the original phone but in a far smaller package with a slimmed down touch screen from 4 to 3.2 inches making for a more pocket friendly device.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro goes one step further by incorporating a full slide out Qwerty keyboard although it has had to cut back on the camera lens resolution from 8 down to 5 mega pixels to do this.

The newly released Sony X10 is powered by a market leading 1GHz processor allowing the user to zip through the menu system and load and run applications without any lag time, other features include an 8 mega pixel camera which is the highest available in any Android device as well as a large 4 inch touch screen.

This is the first Android mobile phone to be launched by Sony Ericsson and to further bolster their efforts they have included two new applications called Timescape and Mediascape, the first organises the users text messages, emails, tweets on Twitter and Facebook updates amongst others into one continuous stream keeping the user fully up to date on what their friends are up to.

The latter takes care of all of the phones multimedia by providing three home screens for organising music, video and downloaded content for easy access.

The competition in the Android mobile phones market is definitely hotting up, there have been two new launches from HTC with the HTC Desire and HTC Legend making it to market in the past couple of days as well as the much hyped Google Nexus One phone and the popular Motorola Milestone, Samsung Galaxy Portal and LG GW620.
