Samsung Omnia i8910 HD was on display at the WMC and set many a heart a flutter with its stunning features. Even before this, the previous Omnia, i.e. the Samsung Omnia i900 had been a huge hit. The new model is all set to beat even the amazing success of its predecessor.

Samsung Omnia i8910 HD: Different from Samsung Omnia I900

The platforms on which the two phones operate are totally different. While the new Samsung i8910 HD uses Symbian S60, the Omnia i900 uses Windows mobile operating system. The Symbian used in Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is actually very different from those used by others because Samsung has topped the Symbian platform with its own TouchWiz interface. This makes any old user of Samsung's up-market phones feel comfortable. The old Omnia has a layout very different from the new one. There is a button added in-between the call keys and the colors have been altered.112 x 56.9 x 12.5mm was the measurement of the Omnia i900 whereas 123 x 58 x 12.9mm is the measurement of the i8910 HD . The new Omnia has also added a 27g weight to the Omnia i900's 122g.

Sporting a Chic Look

The streamlined body looks extremely slim, especially from the side. The black phone combines with the slimness to give the handset a futuristic look. The LED touchscreen is huge to say the least and the technology used makes navigation between the main menu and other regions very easy. The display is commendably clear owing to the high definition resolution. The phone comes with lot of widgets that are not tough to handle, as all you have to do is drag the widget you choose to the main screen using the stylus. The widgets are updated regularly and are very useful to users.

Awe-inspiring Screen

Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode- AMOLED feature combines with the 3.7-inch screen to give clarity, sharp pictures and unparalleled colors. Surprisingly, it does not use as much power as other touch phones of this type do.

Enthralling Features

The phone offers 8/16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded with a microSD slot. It supports Wi-Fi, A2DP Bluetooth, A-GPS and GPS, an 8-megapixel camera with geo-tagging, autofocus, face and smile detection, blink shot and of course, flash. You can hear FM radio on this phone too.

The Much Talked-about Video Features

The Omnia HD i8910 from Samsung is the only mobile phone in the world to give 720p video i.e. 1280 x 720 video recording as well as decoding. The huge screen only enhances the possibilities. You can output the video you record to HD TV via DLNA. It offers a 360x640 pixel screen. You can record 24 frames in every seconds and the handset has editing tools that are in-built for example audio dubbing, video trimming and subtitling. The Samsung i8910 Omnia is compatible with DivX, H.263, H.264, XviD, WMV, RV and MPEG4.

With all these features and more the fact that you can make or receive calls seems like just a little extra!
