Wanda Mckiver played the same notes that Tyler Perry played successfully playing. The big question was Ms Mckiver copying the famous actor and playwright?
Wanda Mckiver started her career in the year 2005 when her first novel The Black Rose Diaries that dared to challenge the myth that had casted its spell on the¬ African American Society. Tyler on the other hand started his career in the year 1992 when he first hit the stage with I Know I’ve Been Changed, which bounced back initially taking Tyler into the dark world of poverty once again, but Tyler never gave up. Thus while Ms Mckiver started with great enthusiasm; Tyler had to muster up all his courage and finances as well to emerge out of the darkness that had plagued him for several days. His perseverance appreciated by leaps and bounds and he finally hit the bull’s eye when in 1998 the musical moved to the reputed Fox theatre.
Ms McKiver’s journey to stardom and fame is flanked by heart rendering novels and proses along with prominent stage productions like The Meltdown (2009). Her novels, especially the Black Rose Diaries (2005) and the Beautiful (2006) enthralled audiences and stormed the entire literary world. The characters she portrays are real life characters and the emotions felt alike by all. While the year 2006 saw Ms McKiver’s novel Beautiful, Tyler published his first book called ‘Don’t Make a Black Woman Take off Her Earrings’. This¬¬-¬¬¬¬ book talks about the life and love shooting off to the bestseller racks of the New York Times. Tyler though started off on a modest note; he gradually became a brand by himself and is presently almost an empire. Thus while Ms McKiver was taking small steps towards fame and success, Tyler took a long jump and with his hands in novels, plays, musicals, and TV shows as well, he became a person to reckon with. The year 2007 marks Tyler’s presence in the television world with the TBS series – House of Payne.

While Ms McKiver journeys staging her plays and musicals with a small bunch of 16 artists; Tyler has a team of 300 employees based out of Atlanta. Hard work is the most appropriate definition for both these writers. They are never ready to compromise and rest once they succeed. They both have the strong urge to work and voice the emotions of African Americans especially women, who have been challenged and abused behind closed doors. The African American community especially in the democratic world is faced with challenges of molestations and abuse and violence.
Born with a rekindling fire within, Wanda and Tyler have set themselves on a vision to transform the society plagued by social customs and disrespect for humanity as a whole. They have yet another thing in common; both are from a similar background that was full of abuse and molestation. It is this disturbed childhood that took them to new heights of success and fame. It is the pain that people suffer from that drives them to work and spread the message of love and humanity.
