Ozzy Osbourne was born in the year 1948 as John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham. As the lead vocalist for Black Sabbath, a heavy metal band, Ozzy Osbourne is known to be one of the most influential artists of rock of all times. The Beginning of His Career
Like so many other artists growing up in Birmingham, Osbourne had found himself in a distinctively blue collar job in a large family wile growing up. After leaving school at fifteen and several uninteresting jobs, he eventually found salvation in the band that he formed with Tony Iommi, a schoolmate in the year 1968. Although quite a lot of this has been as a result of the somber and dark style of Iommi, the anguished vocals of Osbourne and the lyrics of Butler’s explored several murky notions of helplessness and madness. The Birth of the Solo Artist
The band stumbled down from their consistent performance during the 70s due to the member’s alcohol and drug abuse and Osbourne had been fired from the band in the year 1979. His solo career continued to be based on horror movie imagery with greater visual flair and flamboyance. Between 1980 and 83 he released three very popular albums which magnified his solo career into a legend that was hardly imaginable. It was even more impressive that he managed to do it all through the tragedy of his close friend and struggles against substance abuse.
Brief Decline and Rebirth
