Have you noticed that the television of today is utterly devoid of movie trailers that promote 'ultra compelling' new movies? While this is not a new phenomena, the sparse quantity of these indicates how competitive tv has become overall, and the 'steep marketing prices' being almost too much for general cinema promotion.

Regardless of your viewpoint, the fact is that these are vital to the marketing of any good or bad movie, and the fact that there is so little available today, is quite telling indeed. However, even when we do see a movie trailer, the duration is usually nominal, and it usually doesn't surpass the ten second mark.

Why? No one can really tell, but the dynamics behind abbreviated trailers has limited our attraction and kept many of us from going to the movies altogether. The fact is that 10 seconds is not enough to legitimately promote any movie; because the nature of the trailer must allow for a longer duration in order to achieve maximum intrigue among it's target audience.

Therefore, whether free movie trailers online, or one's that are fed directly into your television, the full experience is usually over ten seconds, but under 45. Obviously, the longer the better for most of us as it inevitably yields a much more visually abundant experience, an brief movie trailer can also be effective as well.

Back in the 20th century, movie trailers were much more elongated by nature and television didn't limit their duration as much as they do today. As a result, what we have today is an industry devoid of being able to market itself readily, and only the major productions get the longer trailers.

Whether your a huge fan of trailers altogether, or could leave them for more aspiring moviegoers; your glimpse of what a movie could possibly be to you is being 'left on the cutting room floor', among the vast majority of cable and television stations who sell this sort of advertising.

Nevertheless, the concept of more elaborate and longer trailers probably will return at some point, but until then, we will have to succumb to the shorter movie trailer!
