It has been said many times that older people don’t invent impossible things, because they know they are impossible to create. Somehow, the young people often do invent the impossible because they haven’t had the opportunity to learn why it is impossible.

In March of 2009, eighteen year old, Leif K-Brooks introduced a new anonymous chat site with One on One interaction facility. The website, Omegle, allows users to meet total strangers and have a personal interaction, one-on-one. K-Brooks created the site for fun and so he could try out some new programming code. He also believes that too many people only associate with other people that they have things in common with.

Nothing wrong with that type of interaction, is there? Of course there isn’t. Websites such as Facebook and Twitter work in such a manner by linking people who have similar interests. The best way to learn new things is not always from others who think the way we do. When a student goes to college, many of the instructors will challenge their thinking and force the student to reconsider everything they thought they knew. Omegle was created to help do this.

Omegle connects you with a total stranger who may have the same interest, but is more likely not to have the same thoughts. The stranger can be anyone on the planet and many of the connections appear to be people from everywhere. Omegle wants to bring individuals together who may have nothing in common in a safe anonymous environment. Anonymity allows people to open up and say things they might not normally venture.

Omegle chat is easy to use and has little in regards to graphics on the home page. The site does have a commercial on it that pays for the operations of the site. When you enter the site, you don’t have to create a profile, remember silly passwords, or anything else that many of the other websites ask you to do before you can chat. Omegle just gives you the option to start right away. Your user name is ‘you.’ Your anonymous stranger’s handle is ‘stranger.’ What could be easier to work with? At anytime you can disconnect from the conversation.
