The Nokia 5130 Red is a popular handset that has a striking red outline to its exterior casing. The vibrant colour reflects the internal aspects of the phone which provides a multitude of functions all within a reasonable price bracket. The dimensions of the phone are 107.5mm x 46.7mm and it is 14.8 mm thick. It weighs 88 grams which puts it into the lightweight category.

The camera is a 2 mega pixel fixed focus camera, and has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. This is suitable for snapshots whilst on the move and coupled with the phones video recording and playback feature offers alternative means of capturing moments to view at a later time.

The Nokia 5130 Red also offers GPRS and EDGE, both of which are class 32 as well as HSCSD. Blue tooth and USB are included both of which are version 2.

The phone also comes with vibration and ring alert facilities. With downloadable polyphonic and MP3 being available to use as ringtones. Downloadable themes are available to individualise the phone.

Music entertainment is provided by the MP3 player which can play all major audio file formats including MP3, AAC and WMA. For listening to local or national radio an FM stereo radio with full RDS is provided. Memory is expandable up to 16 Gb by making use of the integrated microSD (Transflash) slot.

The Red Nokia 5130 is a phone which is aimed at the budget market and as such has what could be termed cut down versions of all the major attributes available on phones today. This doesn't mean it is not a useful handset, because in reality it does everything a phone should do, but at a considerably cheaper price than many.
