The Acer DX900 Tempo offers a different slant on a mobile phone. It is more akin to a PDA and incorporates numerous features that are found in these types of mobile devices. Acer are well known within the laptop market and as such have brought their expertise to the phone market with this handset.

The Acer DX900 Tempo utilises the accomplished Samsung S3C 6410 533 MHz processor as the mainstay for its processing. Coupled with the popular Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional this ensures the handset provides a robust and functional PDA style format which encourages use of the integral software which includes pocket versions of office.

The 2.8 inch TFT resistive touch screen is beautifully crafted and displays up to 65,000 colours and at a resolution of 480 x 640 pixels. The screen provides a vibrant and colourful image representation. To access the functions it uses a widget based user interface which is user friendly to use. The screen also allows the user to input data by offering a useful handwriting recognition feature.

The 3.15 mega pixel camera which is built into the phone comes with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. Auto focus and an LED flash ensure images are taken in a clear and crisp manner. The camera also doubles up as a video capture device allowing recording and playback. This is a useful alternative to photo taking. A secondary camera also offers the video call feature which is becoming increasingly popular. Internal memory within the handset is 128 MB.

Internet access is provided by the HSDPA connection and Wi-Fi connections which offers speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. This is faster than most home broadband packages and coupled with the large display screen makes web browsing simple and enjoyable. Blue tooth and miniUSB provide additional connectivity and enables file sharing and synchronisation. GPS also comes as standard on this phone.

The DX900 Tempo is a phone which provides numerous useful features that are useful in everyday life. Its PDA style and demeanour ensures its user is able to access the net and accomplish many tasks whilst moving from place to place. It was released in April of 2009 and has become a popular choice already.
