With an explosive batting line up, some effective bowlers and some world class players to boot, India should be able to defend the World Cup title, feels Sachin Tendulkar. Speaking to newspaper reporters in Singapore, Sachin said India is one of the best balanced sides in the world, with fantasting batting right upto No 7 and balanced seam and spin attack. Ishant is one of the most promising fast bowlers in the world and is backed up by the wearer of the purple cap in IPL, R P Singh, who got 23 wickets. Harbhajan Singh and Ojha provide the lethal spin backing. He said he had full confidence in the Indian XI, which is replete with world class players.

Dhoni's fairytale career may receive a boost, if he picks up the 2009 World Cup. He engineered India to a great victory over Pak in 2007 T20 World Cup. His side appears to be stronger than the 2007 XI. His rise has been meteoric, from a lowly paid Raliway employee to one of India's leading sportsmen.

Here they are

Sehwag
Gambhir
Raina
R Sharma
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Yusuf Pathan
Irfan Pathan or R Jadeja or I Sharma
H Singh
R P Singh
Zaheer Khan or M Patel

Except Gambhir and Dhoni, all can bowl. R Sharma and Yuvraj got hat-tricks in the recently concluded IPL in SA. Sehwag and Y Pathan are also good bowlers, which makes tndia the best all round XI in the world !

The recen IPL will be a morale booster for the Indian team, says T A Sekhar, Indian former player and Ops Director of Delhi Daredevils. The IPL functioned as a prelude to the World Cup and Indian players confidence has been boosted by the event. With Raina in torrid form, Bajji and Ojha are bowling well . Y Pathan and I Pathan have proved to be good allrounders and IPL has been a good learning curve for Indians, he feels.

Dhoni feels that Indians are more technically equipped than their counterparts to handle pressure situations, due to playing in IPL. It is true that other teams had players in the IPL and IPL experience had done them a world of good. But Indians have more exposure in this sort of game, he feels. Indians know how to handle pressure, like getting 15-20 runs in the final over situations. There were a lot of such situations in IPL and Indians had benefited a lot and defending the World Cup Title will not be difficult.
