If you are looking for a gastronomic treat, you couldn't do any better than sampling some of the fabulous eating houses of Atlantic City in New Jersey.
The wonderful array of restaurants, specialize in dishes from all over the world including Argentina, China, Cuba, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and even Switzerland! If I've missed any countries out I apologize, but you're almost certain to find whatever it is you're looking for in A.C.

There's something for every taste, and every pocket too; from Irish Pubs (serving great Irish food of course), to Steak Bars, and if it's so called "fine" dining you're after, they've got just what it takes to tickle those taste buds and tickle those check books open too.

Dining out is becoming the world's favorite pastime, and we're all getting some much better at it too. Once upon a time, we were all relatively easily pleased, and often if the quantity was generous enough, we forgave other shortcomings. But not today…Oh no! - We've been educated.

Now, when we dine out, it's all about the total experience. The location, the view, the décor, the ambience, the atmosphere, the wine cellar, the service, and how the menu's constructed, and we haven't even sampled the food yet!

But it's true; we have been educated and we're all that much more knowledgeable, and demanding. A lot of it's down to TV of course, with all those fantastic cookery programs, Chef Ramsay etc. It does mean though, that the restaurants had better watch out, because if they don't satisfy in every department, they'll not survive for long.

But you won't have to worry in A.C. The restaurants have already got the message, and you're sure to have some of the best eating out experiences you've ever had anywhere in the world.

This article isn't designed to recommend particular restaurants. There are plenty of gourmet websites to examine online, where you can see sample menus, photos of interiors and the scenery on offer too. Speaking of which, you'll find several great restaurants overlooking the sea shore.

No, this article is all about the general dining out gourmet experience you can enjoy in A.C. You haven't had a steak until you've sampled some the dark purple Argentinean beef, juicy, succulent, and melt in the mouth tender; absolutely brimming over with flavor, and perfect, washed down with a glass of Chataeuneuf du Pape (not Argentinean, but one of the great French reds; a marriage made in heaven as an accompaniment for one of the world's greatest steaks).

You'll also find some stunning oriental cuisine on offer. Not your ordinary run of the mill Chinese; but specialized Cantonese or Vietnamese, with mouth wateringly fresh ingredients and sauces, the colors, the textures, the aromas; just stunning; and what better to wash it all down with than a tooth rattlingly chilled glass of Gewürztraminer, a great white wine with a subtle hint of spice to compliment the food to perfection.

But if its fine dining you're after, you won't find anything finer anywhere. There are many restaurants where you can enjoy a gastronomic feast. Fine dining is all about combining influences from all over the world, with the very best, freshest, ingredients, and the genius of the chef's twist in creating stunning flavor combinations and presenting them in a way that almost stops you from breaking into it - it almost looks too good to eat. Add a great surrounding, with a subtle ambience and reduced lighting; a little background live, soft music from the piano, the attentiveness of the waiting staff, and of course some great company, and you've got an evening to remember; a dining out event to match anywhere on the planet, right here in Atlantic City.
