The Tata Tea Jaago Re! Campaign is synonymous with social change. It encourages regular citizens like us to go out and do our little bit to bring about the change that we want to see, instead of cribbing and complaining about all the ailments that afflict our society. With the success of the Voting campaign and the Corruption campaign, the latest Jaago Re! call is to Spare some time for the country, because your spare time is all that India needs.
All of us want the world to become a better place. Some of us realize that we have to be part of the change. Some of us do something about it. We may be motivated but may not know where to start. We may be keen to contribute but may not be able to dedicate regular time. We may be committed but may not be able to be physically present – or we might be just plain lazy! If this is the case, then jaagore is just what can help. All it asks for is a bit of our spare time.
So, as Jaago Re! says, when you find time from surfing, Facebooking, queuing downloads, sharing gossip, shopping or any other time-pass, try the following:

Step 1 - Log onto jaagore. Intended as a portal to help kick-start social change of any form – from volunteering, to stimulating discussions, getting together groups of like-minded people, sharing knowledge and information etc. – jaagore is a platform that brings together people and NGOs. That is, it is a bridge between Indian citizens who wish to give back to society but are constrained by lack of easily available opportunities and physical time, and Indian NGOs (and Citizen Groups) which work on various social causes and require resources and support in whatever form they can get.
Step 2 - would be to figure out what interests you. Browse through the 4 sections described below, see what gets you interested and get started! As simple as that.
ACT – Volunteer for NGO projects or be part of social change events organized by citizen groups. There are 130+ NGOs, 270 projects and 80 Groups that you can choose from, depending on your city and the cause of your choice. There are even projects that you can do online, without stepping out of your house!

SPEAK-UP – Post problems / questions and seek solutions in Jaago Re! Asks. Discuss a key social issue, post your thoughts, comments on the blog.
LEARN – Find information on various social causes, post articles and documents.
CONNECT – Connect with NGOs, Citizen Groups and other individuals working on a specific cause in a specific city as per your choice.
It’s time we joined hands to kick-start a mini social revolution, in a fun way, the Jaago Re! way. And thus it is called the Jaago Re! Movement. With 22, 500 registrations, 130 NGOs, 270 live NGO projects and 600 volunteers, the movement has already begun. We need to add the momentum and the change needs to show!
