Goodnight stories from the Quran by Saniyasnain Khan published by Goodword Islamic Books is the answer to every child's longing to hear a good bedtime story. It contains a careful selection of thirty three magnificent Quran stories told in age-appropriate language. The book has a simple text and fabulous colour pictures. The book offers a special dimension to these wonderful goodnight stories and acts as a foundation on which to build a growing knowledge of the Quran.

Some of the main chapters are How Allah Created the Universe, The Father of Humankind, The Gentle Brother, The Story of the Prophet Nuh, The Ark and the Great Flood etc

In ‘How Allah Created the Universe' we are shown how God made the world. How out of total darkness God uttered the word "Be" and the world was made.

The different things that God made are described such as fruits, animals and birds. Different natural phenomena such as rain, sunshine, cool breezes and clouds passing by are talked of. In this way this Islamic book through this Islamic book store introduces children to the beautiful world of nature.

In ‘The Father of Humankind' God as the maker of man is talked of. How God made man from the soil is discussed. Allah gave Adam wisdom and made him the first prophet.

How Adam and Eve ate fruit from the forbidden tree is talked about. They ate this fruit at the encouragement of Satan and therefore we are warned against the Devil. Adam is described as being the first Prophet of God. His life teaches us that we have all been made by God and that we should respect each and every human being and not look down upon anyone. Similarly we are taught against insulting anybody.

In ‘The Story of the Prophet Nuh (Noah)' we learn about the mission of the Prophet Nuh. Men and women had strayed on the wrong path and the need was felt for a guide to take them on the correct path. But the people turned against him and tried to kill him. In great distress Nuh prayed to God to help him which he did in the form of the great flood. This flood killed those who had been harassing Nuh or who had refused to listen to his message.

This Islamic book explores the great flood in detail in ‘The Ark and the Great Flood'. The story of how God ordered Nuh to build a great boat to protect animals and the believing people from a great flood is described in this chapter. More and more rain fell and soon the rivers overflowed and water fell in torrents.

The Ark rose and fell and soon there were giant waves. Later the clouds subsided and the rain stopped. The Ark came to rest we are told on Mount Judi in a land now called Turkey.

Children are taught thereby that there are many ways in which problems can be overcome but that the important thing is to have faith in God.
