Glorious win for Bangalore

What a glorious win for Bangalore ! They beat Chennai by 6 wickets, 7 balls
remaining.

For Chennai, Hayden and P Patel started well, putting on 61 runs for the
first wicket. In a blistering 36 off 27 balls, P Patel almost took the game
away from Bangalore. But then he was out lbw to Kallis. In walked Dhoni, who
scored 28. Raina scored 20 and Chennai could only muster 146/5 in their
allotted 20 overs. They shoud have got 30/40 runs more to make the match
more competitive.

Bangalore started badly, losing two wickets for just 22 runs. Kallis was
caught Patel bowled Gony for 9 and van Der Merwe was bowled Morkel for 2. In
walked the Wall of the Indian team, Dravid, who steadied the innings with
the in form Manish Pandey. Manish had scored a glorious 114 no in the last
match and was a matchwinner. Manish played well for his 48 till he was
bowled by Jakati. The scoreboard then read 94/3. The young Virat Kohli, who
is in good nick, joined the well experienced Wall. Together they took the
score to 110, when the Wall was trapped lbw by Murali for a well compiled
44. Ross Taylor and Kohli took the score to 149/4, with seven balls to
spare.

Today's match appears to be thrilling. Deccan and Bangalore were at the
bottom of the table in last year's IPL. Now they have risen high. Is it due
to the pitches in S A, where it suited their bowlers ?

Hope today' match will be a humdinger. Nobody likes one sided matches. Let
us analyse the strength of both teams.

Deccan Chargers

Gilchrist towers like a colossus in IPL II ! He is a terror to the
opposition and you could have seen the dismay on the faces of the Delhites,
when he hammered 85 off 35 balls ! Gibbs has not cliked in all matches and R
Sharma should also do well. After scoring 60, Gibbs was out for a duck in
the last match. R Sharma has only one half century in IPL II. Both these
batsmen can be threats to the opposition. Also Symonds !

Bangalore Royal Challengers

Manish Pandey's rise has been meteoric. He became the Man of the Match in
the semi final and scored the only IPL hundred by an Indian. Pandey's ton
came against Deccan and this is a factor which causes alarm and despondency
in the Deccan camp. Kohli and Taylor have been superb, and van der Merwe and
Kumble had bowled magnificently.

Watch out for some good duels, between some ace players, players who hold
the key to the finals ! Of course, other players may peak in the finals,
like Manish Pandey !
