Zbigniew Brzezinski, the disgraced National Security Advisor under Jimmy Carter, showed once again just how far out of touch with reality the American left is.

In an interview with The Beast, Brzezinski discussed the possibility of a pre-emptive strike by Israel on Iran's nuclear weapons facilities.

The Israel pilots would most likely have to fly through Iraqi airspace, which is patrolled by the U.S. Air Force.

Brzezinski recommended that the Obama administration order the U.S. Air Force to defend Iran by sending attack aircraft to shoot down the Israeli pilots "If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not."

The Obama administration has already abandoned our allies in Eastern Europe and supported our enemies in Latin America. Israel, the shining light of democracy and freedom in the Middle East, risks being shuttered by a U.S. administration which has more interest in making friends with dictators than with supporting and extending the light of freedom across the globe.

Personally, I doubt that U.S. Air Force pilots would agree to fire on our allies for the purpose of defending the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Our boys in blue aren't nearly as ignorant or nearly as amoral as their bosses in Washington. I believe that the President who gave that order would quickly and rightfully find himself impeached.Jose Martinez is the author of Former National Security Advisor Wants the U.S. Air Force to Defend the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program and John Stossel on Canadian Veterinary Care.
