I have to admit, I'm a twenty-eight year old person that loves to read YA, or young adult fiction. Perhaps you may say I'm a closet children's book reader. I recently began a quest to find a new young adult fiction best seller just after I read Twilight, The Hunger Games, The Lightning Thief, along with the entire J. K Rowling Harry Potter Series. Please take into account that a good number of children's books are defined as exactly that, when in fact, they've been read by readers of any age. At last, I truly do feel that I've found yet another top-notch book that will sooner or later reach the top 10 book list of the year combined with the top ten children's book of the year - for virtually all of you which have taste similar to mine.

After they pick the next Caldecott or perhaps a Newbery award, not forgetting the fact that it'd make a great motion picture, you will see this innovative book collection on the list. It's named The Road to Dendura. I personally stumbled across this on Amazon online marketplace. The testimonials on Amazon were not only very legitimate, but all these men and women were highly excited regarding The Road To Dendura - so I then proceeded to go to the CreedGriffon.com homepage and invested in the book for myself because it was less expensive there in comparison with Amazon online marketplace. Creed Griffon realizes that he's a missing apprentice so for this reason he is being hunted. Okay, Creed Griffon is simply a normal youth, or at least he thinks he is before he finds out his correct identity in the most incredible way - but I don't want to ruin it for you.

As Creed quickly finds out, his standard everyday dull life is just a facade for his true purpose; Creed learns the fact that the fate of the entire world as we comprehend it is placed in his hands. Creed alone has the potential to triumph over the wickedness that attempts to enslave all of man-kind, spirit, and beast. This is all very tough for Creed to believe as it is described to him, because when he was a young child his memory was intentionally erased to protect him. Therefore, he doesn't have full control of the magic he evokes. There are many twists in the plot such as Creed, the main character, believes that his father, who is supposed to be dead, is the one behind all of the attempts on his life. Both the reader and Creed Griffon are left still not knowing who the bad guy is - even after an all out face to face attempt on his life from what appears to be Creeds father. All I know is that the story was so good that I've been checking the Creed Griffon website for release of book two of the series; which must be where Creed's true attacker is revealed.

Anyway, his identity is accidentally discovered by his enemies and he is forced to run with aid of a shape shifting friend and later a ferret. C. L. Lewis' use of talking animals and believability of plot is seriously reminiscent of J. R. R. Tolkien, and C. S. Lewis. I really enjoyed the fact that the plot takes place in present day, but eventually he gets thrust into the past. Knowing when to break from the seriousness and the many attacks on Creed is also written very well by C. L. Lewis - because at times, the hunt for Creed by his enemies is nothing less than relentless. To be truthful, on occasion, it gave me cause to look over my shoulder wondering if I was being watched!

The characters are highly inventive, the story line is creative and unique, and I really liked the continuous action as the hunt for Creed Griffon grew more intense. As in all great novels that you've read in your life - the characters quickly become real to you and they literally jump off of the pages before your eyes. Grapple's character certainly fits this description. I absolutely love the way C. L. Lewis wrote his language. I've tried reading it out loud but I haven't yet mastered it. How Lewis did this I don't know but it certainly makes his character a blast to read.

In summary, if anyone has teens - or parents (as well as teachers or librarians) that are in need of a great new young adult fiction story time book, I'd highly recommend The Road to Dendura! Road To Dendura, C. L. Lewis, Best New Young Adult Fiction - The Road To Dendura

I love reading good books and I do so appreciate the many times that a good friend or a blog on the web has recommended a good book to read. So many books - not enough time.
