So, we have an idyllic locale, the Bahamas. A buried treasure and three friends - Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Zayed Khan. It does not take a genius to guess that despite the reluctance of Dutt to go looking for the treasure, treasure hunting they do go. And from here on the movie's down fall starts.

First, the story was that the British Government as a goodwill gesture promised to return the loot they had amassed. Good! Strange - that the ship in order to reach India would be wrecked off some obscure island in the Bahamas. It is all very nice for the director to take us poor audience on a trip to the Bahamas, but at least don't think that the viewer is totally clueless about the geographic location. Or assuming the Suez Canal did not exist, which it did - it opened in 1869, the route which this particular ship took mystifies you till the very end.

Second, it is suppose to be a treasure hunt with the baddies on their heels. Really, Rahul Dev as the villain falls flat. He just is not menacing enough nor is able to convince that he is a really tough guy. From the onset one knows that someone else is holding the strings. Who that person is - a few minutes into the movie and the secret is out, though it is revealed in the end. The only people surprised were probably the characters. Though they, too, were unable to show their shock. It was more like, ‘Oh, ok, so he is the one'.

Third, the action is insipid. There are too many movies that have better bike scenes and chases. Remember Dhoom? To see Zayed Khan show his skills on the bike fall flat. One just wished it would finish so that the story could move forward.

Fourth, the first half this Bollywood movie Blue , is wasted. It takes the director almost and hour and a half to build a movie, one would hope for a grand second half. Not so. Seems the underwater scenes washed away the second half of the movie.

The songs are bad, except for ‘Chigy Wigy'. Kylie Minogue looked like she hated being treated like a sack as she danced with Akshay Kumar. Zayed Khan didn't involve at all. Lara Dutta looked good in her various assortments of bikinis. The only two people who seemed in sync with the storyline were Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar.

The only good part of the movie is the beautiful and amazing shoot underwater. We know so little about the sea and even a little glimpse into their world is fascinating.

Blue can be treated as an underwater documentary film that is being introduced by our very own Bollywood actors rather the usual marine experts.
