His fortunes turned in Feb, 2004 when he was asked by the Mirage Resort and Casino in
Las Vegas to be their resident magician. Shimshi spent two years as a magician in Las Vegas in this resort, honing his skills. He then moved to greener pastures by performing for the World's Greatest Magic show at the Sahara Casino, and V show at Planet Hollywood. Thus his career as a magician in Las Vegas began to bloom.

However Shimshi was in the news recently for the decline in his fortunes. Ever since the economic down turn, his gigs as a magician in Las Vegas have disappeared. As a result, Shimshi stays at home looking after his only daughter while his wife minds a catering business. The couple has lost their savings which they had invested in a franchise of Smoothie King. All their former expenses have been cut down- no more spa visits, phone services, pool services etc. The crisis has reached such a point that they can no longer afford school fees for their daughter.

But Shimshi is unfazed. As a magician in Las Vegas, he is planning new gigs like spots for tradeshows of big companies.

Shimshi may be down, but he will never be out! He will remain the quintessential magician in Las Vegas.
