In today's materialistic world everything from a tiny match box to something as indispensable as flour are highly commercialized. The advent of more and more companies selling a wide range of products has magnified so much so that proper advertising to sell one's products has become imperative. This is exactly where the work of a commercial photographer comes into being. Commercial photography is therefore innate photography that is designed keeping in mind the commercial product that is supposed to be advertised for. Be it promoting cosmetics or showcasing fashionistas in posters or calendars, London based commercial photographers have contributed a great deal in bringing simple things and objects into limelight.

Commercial photographers work really hard trying to bring into forefront the various qualities that a lay man would mostly ignore while looking at a particular object. This kind of photography can be done for magazine covers, corporate publications, restaurant menus, editorials, fashion shows and so on. It therefore covers a wide range of products and is probably the best way in which sellers can glorify their products in front of a wide audience in an extremely attractive way.

Advertising has come a long way from the yesteryears where it was simply confined to posters and telecommunication messages. Today's tech savvy and thoroughly well informed audience asks for detailed synopsis of products before buying them. The gradual development of advertising led to further promotion of commercial photographers taking such photography, a notch higher, in terms of both outlook and innatism of the product. A new addition of a burger in the menu of Mc Donald's looks appetizing and delicious because it has been dealt with precisely by the commercial photographer or when the range of a new cosmetic product immediately draws your attention towards it, its entire credit goes to the commercial photographer.

Another important and very well known aspect of commercial photography is fashion photography. The glamour and fashion world has reached it's zenith in the recent past, and publicity photographers (those concerned with the photography of celebrities, politicians, sporting heros, models and other public figures) are much to be credited for this. These public figures that seem to be encapsulated in our hearts are mere puppets in the hands of the publicity photographers who present them in the most glamorous and most elegant way possible. So the next time you see the photograph of any public figure or celebrity and almost build a place for him / her in your heart, don't forget to give the due credit to the publicity photographer!

Commercial photographer, as any other photographer, takes very detailed care of the settings, the lights, shades and lenses that they use while taking various photographs. Hence, corporate headshots, which focus on the face, use a suitable background so that the face gets prominence and lights are used in such a way that the face gets highlighted. Studio portraits may use grayscales, color scales or black and white scales as per the customer's requirements.

Commercial photography has therefore come a long way all through the years as photographers who clicked random pictures earlier now focus on the different aspects by which they can enhance a product's attractiveness and gratify its unique selling point (USP).
