As Android has grown, it's turned up in pretty much every market segment out there, including entry-level to high-end phones. Let's take a gander at the coolest Android mobiles that you can currently buy in each segment.

Sony Ericsson X10 Mini

Let's begin by taking a look at a phone for customers who need to get a smartphone, but do not want a oversized handset or a phone that costs a lot to buy: the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini. As you should be able to guess from the name, the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is a cut-down version of the Xperia X10. The manufacturer has taken all the good stuff from the X10, and squeezed it down into a new shell designed to make the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini, even as a smartphone, REALLY tiny. Therefore, for customers who need a smartphone that is 'weeny' enough to squeeze into the tightest storage spaces, the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is the perfect choice.

HTC Wildfire

Android is on a mission to take over the mid-range, as well, and it's now taken up residence in the beautiful HTC Wildfire. This phone has all the exciting stuff which made its big predecessor (the HTC Desire) so nice, but puts all that good stuff in a more compact, cheaper body, that remains both slick and sexy. Needless to say, having been put in that mid-range body means that the HTC Wildfire hasn't got the 1GHz processor of the Desire, but it still performs beautifully. You also get the Sense UI, installed on top of Android in the HTC Wildfire, yet again like its larger sibling. Based around those reasons, if you would like a phone which is close to the Desire when it comes to specs, but that costs a lot less, then the HTC Wildfire is the phone to choose.

Samsung Galaxy S

In conclusion, then, there's the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini which has a super-small frame, and then there is the HTC Wildfire, the mid-range sibling to the HTC Desire. And finally you've got the the powerhouse, the Samsung Galaxy S, with the most impressive screen of any phone on this list. Weighing in at a enormous 4 inches, it is just vast, and the WVGA, 800x480 resolution means that it is so very easy to use the touch controls on the screen. Sitting atop the underlying OS, the front end that you interact with built around Samsung's TouchWiz UI. It is beautifully easy to use, and although it is definitely not as sublime (but then, what is?) as HTC's Sense UI, it (as well as the super fast 1GHz Hummingbird chip) is the biggest reason why the Samsung Galaxy S is such an unmitigated joy to live with, day to day. However, it isn't all about raw processor grunt, a handset must have exciting features and the Samsung Galaxy S also has them in spades, from the 5MP camera, and GPS, to lightning fast HSDPA web access ( and, of course, Google's awesome WebKit browser), and this is why a lot people say that this is one of the best mobile phones on the market.
