Sony Ericsson X10 Mini

Let us kick off by taking a look at a mobile for people who would like to get a smartphone, but hate the idea of a oversized handset or an expensive phone: the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini. As you should be able to guess from the name, the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is a smaller-sized incarnation of the original X10. The manufacturer has taken all the good stuff from the X10, and squeezed it into a brand new shell designed to make the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini, even as a smartphone, unbelievably small. HTC Wildfire

Android is on a mission to dominate the mid-range, too, and it's now taken up residence in the gorgeous HTC Wildfire. The Wildfire has the same exciting bits which made its more powerful brother (the HTC Desire) brilliant, but places all that good stuff in a smaller, more affordable frame, that remains both slick and sexy. Of course, being in that mid-range body means that the HTC Wildfire has not got the 1GHz Snapdragon chip of the Desire, but it still performs beautifully. It also has the Sense UI, installed on top of Android in the HTC Wildfire, yet again similar to its big sibling. Based on that reasoning, if you want a handset that is close to the Desire when it comes to specs, but that won't cost the earth, then the HTC Wildfire is absolutely perfect.

In conclusion, then, there's the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini which has a super-small frame, and then there is the HTC Wildfire, the mid-range equivalent of the HTC Desire. It is truly simple to use, and although it is definitely not as sublime (but then, what is?) as HTC's Sense UI, it (as well as the unbelievably fast 1GHz Hummingbird chip) is the big reason why the Samsung Galaxy S is such an unmitigated joy to use as your everyday phone. Of course, it isn't only about raw processing speed, a smartphone has to have exciting features and the Samsung Galaxy S has got them in spades, from the 5MP camera, and GPS, to lightning quick HSDPA data access ( and, of course, Google's awesome WebKit browser), which is why many people say that this is one of the best mobiles on the market.
