When being interviewed on Fox News Sunday by Chris Wallace some 2-3 years ago, Wallace asked him straight up: "Doesn't declaring bankruptcy

tarnish the Trump name?

Trump: "No, not at all. We're just shedding some debt."

It would appear that the professor stepped outside of his role as and/or bounds of historian. After all, George W. Bush is still writing

history as a sitting president. So how can he possibly be ranked?

And though I think that hands down, Mr. Bush's predecessor occupies the lower rungs of such ranked ladder -- and will, once history truly

judges him; that is, if we can find more objective historians than the professor and his stripe -- we really are too close to his co-

presidency to even rank him and his co-president. Maybe we're even too close to the presidencies of Bush 41 and Ronald Reagan to objectively

rank them.

p>So, my vote's with you, Mr. Tyrrell: Foner is baloney. Perhaps he should stick with exploring 19th century America? And immediately take

some remedial course(s) in whatever subject(s) at Columbia University needed to instruct him in the difference between what constitutes

current events and what's genuine history? br> -- C. Kenna Amos br> Princeton, West Virginia /p> p> I expect that historical vision should

sharpen with age. Historical revisionism respects no such time limitation but, it can cause cognitive dissidence. So, thank you Mr. Tyrrell,

for not elaborating on Professor Foner's assessment of Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter. br> -- Danny L. Newton br> Cookeville, Tennessee /p>

p> I suppose only a Professor of history from Columbia University can assign an historical rank to a President without the perspective of

history. Oh, how it must feel to be so brilliant! Wallace failed ask what "shedding some debt" means.

What it means is that Trump had a change of heart about the terms of his own debts and therefore shoved it into everyone else's pocketbook

and gave us unnecessary inflation prior to the bankruptcy laws changing. A simple google search would have revealed a half dozen articles of

the other Trump casino shareholders decrying Donald's move as well

The thing is; Trump could have afforded the hit. But he instead chose the little guy as the sucker.

p>[The heck with] him, and any puff piece about him. Straight Shooter? My [such and such]! br> -- P. Aaron Jones br> Huntington Woods, MI /p>

p> I can't believe I actually read through this piece by Shawn Macomber, but perhaps even more unbelievable is he sat through it all! Oh my.

br> -- Roger Ross /p> p> Wow, what a windbag! In theory he and Ross Perot should team up for a presidential run on the third party Kook

platform since they both apparently believe the solution to all problems is found in banal sound bites. Thankfully that campaign will never

be as neither one of their colossal egos would br> Arlington, Virginia /p> p> IN SUM br> Re: Lisa Fabrizio's Justice and Love : /p>

Actually, some others sum this up better than Pope Benedict XVI.

The first is Jesus the Christ. In giving the Great Commandments found in the Holy Bible's Gospels, in the Book of Matthew, Chap. 22, the

Christ said the first is to love God and the second of the two is, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
