Looking for a good age spot reducer? Than you’ve come to the right place! There’s no need to let these freckles reveal your age – or make you appear older than you really are. Age spot reduction is as simple as knowing what age spots are and what causes them so that you can tackle those darkened areas on your hands and face without using those expensive (and sometimes dangerous) topical creams, lotions and whiteners.

Before we begin discussing ways to begin age spot reduction on your skin, let’s discuss what they are and how they form.

As the body grows older, the skin begins to react to a life of abuse and neglect. Even if we take wonderful care of our skin in later years, the damage we inflicted in our youth is bound to catch up with us.

Take, for instance, young sun worshipers. The more they bake in the sun’s hot rays for that beautiful tan in their teens and twenties, the more likely their skin will revolt in their 30’s, 40’s and beyond by wrinkling, sagging and becoming covered in brown freckly spots.

Whether you get sunburned or not, the sun damages the skin cells deep within the dermis. Since younger skin cells tend to rejuvenate faster, the damage may not become noticeable for many years, when skin cell re-growth slows down. If those cells were damaged in your youth, they may throw off your skin’s melanin production in later years. This can cause more melanin to be produced in one area of the skin than another, thus causing the skin to darken (otherwise called an age spot).

It would make sense then that the best way to reduce the appearance of these brown spots on the skin would be to take better care of it when you are young. The problem is we don’t – and didn’t. So, now what tactic do we use to limit the damage and these pigmented patches wrecking our skin? Although you may not be able to completely fix the damage, you can do some things to increase your chance of limiting it.

Here are some common age spot reducer tips:

1. Avoid the sun at all cost. Keep the damage to a minimum by covering up when outdoors; wearing a hat and sunglasses and never leaving the house without an SPF sunscreen on!

2. Use antioxidant skin care products. Antioxidants are great at building up skin health and working to repair skin cells, so be sure to use products containing important antioxidant ingredients like functional keratin, omega3 fatty acids and coenzyme Q10.

3. GO natural. Free radicals can damage skin more, so do your best to keep your skin chemical free. This includes using only all-natural skin care products free of parabens, mineral oils and other chemicals.

4. Eat a well-balanced diet. Give your body the right foods and it will be better prepared to fight the signs of aging.

5. Drink plenty of water and moisturize. Moisture is very important in keeping collagen, elastin and melanin production up. Be sure to hydrate from the inside out by drinking plenty of water and using a good quality (and natural) moisturizer.

Follow these simple age spot reducer tips and enjoy clearer, more youthful looking skin.
