Do not worry, I'm not going to bore you with the environmental benefits of solar power but rather I want to cut to the chase. Making your own solar power will soon be the greatest decision of your lifetime. The truth is, there will be many people who basically cannot afford to not make use of the benefits of solar power.

Most of you probably have not heard but Obama's new 2010 budget includes a big energy tax for the big oil, coal, and natural gas companies which is his plan to help payback the cost of the federal government bailout. Many are aniticipating that this energy tax could cost consumers more than $2 trillion over the short span of the following eight years. And perhaps worst of all, this energy tax is scheduled to run through the year 2050.

If you really want to find out what this boils down to, consider that the price of home energy averages at around $112.32 per month at the moment. Once this new energy tax is in full effect, the expected costs are expected to reach $562.67 per month. So unless you can manage an additional $450 per month, you probably won't be able to live without the benefits of solar power.

Obama knows just what this is going to do to people. This is really a strategic move to help level the playing field and give solar power a chance to compete with the monstrous coal, oil, and natural gas companies that are monopolizing the market.

That is why you need to keep in mind these 3 benefits of solar power when thinking about your long term home energy needs.

#1 Benefit of Solar Power - They Can't Regulate Solar Power

Of all the benefits I can imagine, the fact that solar power cannot be regulated is the most powerful one of all. This is great news because as long as you produce your own solar energy at home, the federal government will never be able to tax it.

#2 Benefit of Solar Power - It Doesn't Follow the Same Economic Laws as Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas

Coal, oil, and natural gas are all tradable commodities so they have to follow the law of supply and demand which can drive prices way up. So if there is an greater demand for one, the price will increase accordingly.

But the beauty of creating your own solar energy is that it is not a tradable commodity so it does not follow the same economic law. This is because the demand can never be greater than the supply that will never be depleted.

#3 Benefit of Solar Power - It is 1 of the Only True Sources of Energy that are Free

Energy straight from the sun will never cost you a cent. Do not get me wrong, you still have to pay for the material costs associated with collecting the solar energy but there is no immediate cost of the sunlight itself. And remember that this new energy tax is going to force energy prices sky high making the cost of even a professional solar energy system quite desirable.

If you want the most stable, unlimited, and free source of energy there is then solar power is it. Then add on all of the additional advantages to the ones stated earlier. The other alternative is to start planning an extra $450 into your monthly expense plan.
