There are so many modern methods available for removing unwanted hair, that it becomes difficult to determine which application might be best for you.

Electrolysis has been around for quite a while, and has proven itself extremely reliable when it comes to removing unwanted facial hair from the chin, upper lip or other small areas.

Unlike lasers, electrolysis uses a series of needles with an electric current to remove the hair from the root. Depending on your sensitivity to pain and your tolerance levels, you might find this either mildly uncomfortable or quite painful.

Galvanic electrolysis uses sodium hydroxide to weaken the hair follicles, allowing the complete hair to be removed. Thermolysis stops the hair growth, effectively killing off the hair itself. Either of these methods can remove unwanted hair, but the two used in combination allows the hair to be removed and reduces the chance of regrowth. In fact, for most consumers, electrolysis is a permanent solution to ridding themselves of unwanted facial hair.

Electrolysis involves extremely thin needles that direct the current into the hair follicle itself. Due to the nature of the procedure, it's important to find a reputable establishment with a sterile environment to reduce the risk of infection or other adverse effects, such as blisters or scarring.

Electrolysis itself is not a time consuming procedure since it's normally performed on a small area of hair. The side effects can last anywhere for a couple days to a week, depending on the nature and sensitivity of your skin. However, under normal conditions, the only side effects you will incur will be redness, tenderness and possibly a little inflammation. Anything more dramatic than that should be seen by a health care provider immediately to avoid infection.

The ideal candidate for electrolysis hair removal is a consumer who only has a small area of facial hair they wish to have removed. It could be a few hairs on the chin, neck or possibly the upper lip area. When done properly and by a professional, this procedure can provide you with long lasting removal of unwanted hairs.
