It's a well-know fact that some of the best Hollywood movie releases occur in summer; with so many great showings hitting the big screens this year, Summer 2009 is sure to be an unforgettable season. People usually look forward to watching all movies that are released between May and August because that's when most of the hottest hits come out. Summer Movies 2009 has a line up of likely blockbusters and sensational films. Let's take a look at the most recent movies and the most anticipated movies of this year.
- X-Men Origins-Wolverine - An action packed movie where director Gavin Hood takes us to the Nineteenth Century to understand the origins of Wolverine. This is the tale of a superhuman played by Hugh Jackman, his third in the X-Men series. This movie has the appearance of long awaited legends of X-Men Universe.

- Hannah Montana: The Movie - An entertaining youth movie adapted from Disney Channel's Hannah Montana TV Show. This story is about a teen who has to lead dual roles in life - that of a pop star and a student of a high school. Miley Cyrus takes on the lead role as Montana. This film's sure to be a hit among school kid and teenagers.


- Angels and Demons - This is a continuation to The Da Vinci Code by best selling author Dan Brown. Tom Hanks returns as Robert Langdon in this thrilling race to save the Catholic Church from a secret organization called the Illuminati. Take a trip around the world with him in this suspense filled action thriller!

- Star Trek - It's an all new Star Trek with new up and coming faces, off on a voyage to a place unfamiliar to anyone so far on the most sophisticated starship ever created. Join James T Kirk and Spock in a mission to save the entire human race from destruction by an evil being seeking vengeance.

- Terminator Salvation - A movie set in 2018 with all the violence and tension of Terminator I. Connor has to choose whether he to trust a stranger who may be from the past or future to work with him in order to save the world from a very serious threat of total annihilation. What is Skynet up to?

- Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - if you like adventure comedies, you'll like this one. Battle of the Smithsonian is a sequel to the 2006 picture "Night at the Museum", this Ben Stiller picture moves at a fast pace and explores the interiors of the Smithsonian.


- Up - Pixar's charming animated story for the entire family. A grumpy old man experiments with balloons to fly his house to South America, but not known to him a nine year old boy Russell is on the ride too! Travel with them on this adventure "Up".

- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Michael Bay's second Transformer's movie guaranteed to be bigger and more impressive than his first. A thrilling robot and human chemistry that keeps you rooted to your seat.

- Public Enemies - This movie is anticipated to be the best movie of the year with a star cast that's out of this world. Michael Mann, Christian Bale, Johny Depp, John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Pretty Boy Floyd are all in this together to tell a tale of "Public Enemies", gangsters who delight the depressions affected public with their escapades.

- Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - This marks the end of the Harry Potter series. Expect to see a much more thrilling dark story spiced with romance in this movie with Daniel Radcliff and Emma Watson at the lead.

The other movies to look forward to are Bruno, G Force, Funny People, G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Drag me to Hell.
