What are you doing New Year’s Eve?

Every year the moment of the big question arrives: "what shall we do on New Year's Eve?"...we always postpone the answer until the last minute, hoping to have a sudden genial idea; finally, we excogitate something, but invariably, during the New Year's Eve, every year someone pronounces the fatidic sentence: "next year we need to organize this better". Let's face it: we all heard this, at least once.

The period for the big question arrived this year as well, but we're still in time: this is the right moment to organize the night in which we'll welcome the second decade of the third millennium. Thankful for what it brought to us, or relieved because it finally finished, it's the moment to think about how we wish to say goodbye to 2009. The traditions connected to the New Year's Eve are many and vary depending on the places; either you want to follow them or not, the proposal is to celebrate with a nice and long week-end out; where? In the city of Montagues and Capulets, Verona.

To spend the New Year's Eve Verona is ideal: it has much to offer but it's not too much touristic, it's big but not too much, and, most of all, it's very lively. In its squares you'll find music, parties and fireworks, and for romantic couples it's always a big call: the connection with Romeo and Juliet's history is immediate, and couples cannot resist to the temptation of passing under Juliet's balcony, seeing in their young love the model of the perfect feeling. If it's true what they say, that during the whole year you'll do what you've done in the New Year's Eve, then spending the New Year's Eve in Verona is almost compulsory: breathing an air so filled with feelings isn't perhaps what every lover longs for all year long?

Verona is not only for lovers, though: there's enough for everyone! The parties in the various pubs and nights of the city won't be missing, and in Bra Square, next to the wonderful Arena, there will be the traditional fireworks and music all night long: the epochal group Ricchi e Poveri will make all the square sing its evergreen songs making us live, in the first night of 2010, an Eighties night. For those who prefer staying in a restaurant instead, the offer is very broad; you'll be able to choose among a huge variety of New Year's Eve dinners: from the chic-est ones to those more easy going, varying among the most typical Italian menus and other more exotic ones, from the Japanese sushi to the Brazilian churrasco, the characteristic grill.

This year's offer for the New Year's Eve is particularly lucky: it falls on a Thursday, assuring a long week-end, and the proposals for the New Year's packages are many. The hotels in the area have interesting proposals for all pockets: both in the centre, for those who wish to party till the end, and out of the city, for those who want to party but, after, prefer to rest in a quieter area.

There's enough for everyone: the common denominator is the unmissable champagne opened at 12 o'clock at night, together with the toast to welcome the New Year, hoping that it will bring good things.
