The dark nights are closing in and it is tempting not to venture out the front door and to become a something of a hermit over the winter months. One place which might tempt you out on those cold winter nights, is the cinema. The comfy seats, the popcorn aroma and the warm room of the cinema seem so inviting.

With the Orange Wednesdays 2-for 1 offer, it is even more so. There are lots of other discounts out there, letting you see the latest film trailers and latest film releases for less. The website “Young and Poor” send sout weekly updates on the best deals in town and last week there was 40% off a cinema ticket at Odeon. What a bargain. So instead of having to go on a Wednesday to get the discount, you could go on an any weekday.

Vue Cinemas are also offering discounts for kids during October half term. Children can watch Toy Story 3 for as little as 95p. Of course, you do have to go to the 9:55 showing. The deal is part of the “Kids AM” club that offers tickets for just 95p. This is for selected films at weekends and over half-term so if you have missed the deal this half term, there should be plenty more at Christmas. Children have to be accompanied by an adult to get the discount and it is the same price for the adult.

In Borough, south London, the Roxy cinema has just been refurbished and is giving away a free bottle of Tiger beer to the first 50 people who come through their door on Friday October 29th . Anyone can go to Roxy cinema, but if you want to reserve in advance, it is best to become a member. As it is the end of the season, the single membership is reduced and is just £15. This gives the member free entry to all Roxy screenings, half-price entry to other Roxy events, 10% off the food bill and you can also reserve dinner tables for film screenings. Not bad considering it would normally cost you nearly that to go see one film at the cinema.
