The Atlanta Braves are facing San Diego Padres tonight away at San Diego and it will be interesting to see how the favorite braves are going to hold up to the padres. Here is a review of what both teams are expecting at the PETCO Park Stadium tonight.

The Padres may have gotten off to a slow start, dropping their first two series of the season, but they are hoping the challenge of a visit from the Atlanta Braves and the excitement of their home opener at PETCO Park can help them gain momentum.

The Braves bring their strong starting rotation to San Diego for a three-game set against the Friars, which begins with Monday night's home opener.

"It's exciting to be able to pitch at home and have it be Opening Day," the Padres' Kevin Correia said. "It's going to be something to look back on and remember.

"For me, it's almost like a playoff feel in the stadium, with the big crowd and everyone fired up to see some baseball. It's exciting."

Correia will be tasked with shutting down a Braves lineup that is led by rookie phenom Jason Heyward, who continues his debut tour around the National League. After enduring a mini-slump as pitchers began to adjust to him, Heyward broke out on Saturday night by going 3-for-3 in the Braves' win over the Giants, including a line-drive home run. Giants ace Tim Lincecum had more success against the rookie on Sunday night, holding him hitless in three at-bats, but Heyward struck in the ninth inning of the Braves' 6-3 loss, taking Jeremy Affeldt deep for his third home run.

The Padres' bats will square off against the Braves young hurler, Jair Jurrjens. The right-hander took a no-decision in his first outing, despite giving up just three hits and two unearned runs.

"My arm felt good [on Wednesday]," Jurrjens said. "Everything felt good. It was a good first start, but whenever you go out there to pitch, you never feel good about giving up any runs. You just try to be better each time you go out there."

It hasn't mattered who Padres third baseman Chase Headley has been facing so far this season -- he has hit safely in each of the first six games, tallying four multihit games. Headley is hitting a scorching .440 on the young season.

Unfortunately for the Padres, Headley has been just about the only one to get off to a strong start at the plate. In Sunday's loss to Colorado, the Friars combined for seven hits but were unable to string them together, leaving nine runners on base.

Braves: Proctor's rehab progressing

Scott Proctor is making progress on his journey back from Tommy John surgery. The veteran reliever made another strong impression on Sunday afternoon, working a perfect eighth inning for Triple-A Gwinnett against Charlotte. This weekend, he completed two perfect innings and tallied three strikeouts. There's a chance he could be activated as early as next weekend.

Padres: Keeping Yorvit on the ground

Catcher Yorvit Torrealba got his second start of the season against his former team, going 0-4 in Sunday's loss to Colorado. Torrealba has been catching Chris Young, and on Sunday he caught pitcher Jon Garland. Nick Hundley has started four of the first six games behind the plate and, for the time being, will probably get the majority of starts there.
