United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to attract group buying sites and deal aggregators that have sizeable numbers of beauty and personal care deals with them as cravings of shoppers for beauty and personal care products in the emirates seem to be sharpened with each passing day.

Sensing the change in lifestyle of the people of Arab peninsula, deals purveyors are on the lookout for creative copies that can convince customers into subscribing to vouchers/coupons of beauty and personal care deals.

Industry observers do not dub this as a lifestyle change but rise in consumer awareness about issues that can affect their lifestyle.
"See, it is not an overnight change. Consumers are simply attracted towards promotions that now become essential components of baby care, color cosmetics, deodorants, depilatories, fragrances, hair care, men’s grooming, oral, skin, and sun care, etc," comments an expert.

A latest research by Euromonitor International presenting threadbare analysis of beauty and personal care industry in the emirates also attested the propensity of Arab consumers to prefer buying beauty and personal care products from hyper- and supermarkets that on and off run promotional campaigns to generate customer traffics.

Since discounts and price-cuts are part and parcel of group buying sites, usually shoppers opt for buying in group. Deal sites feature beauty and personal brands that are not discarded from shelves because of quality or other issue contrary to the wrong belief held by the critics. Rather, sometimes deals hail from top companies of international repute.

The beauty and personal care market in UAE is visibly internationalized. One can count on fingertips top brands in the industry and that all are international. Unilever Gulf FZE, P&G Gulf FZE, L’Oreal Middle East FZE, and Beiersdorf Middle East are at the helm of affairs of beauty and personal care industry, accounting for half of industry’s sales in UAE. Local manufacturers have not developed capacity to vie for major market shares. However, Arab perfumes manage to give hard-hitting competition to their international competitors. Rasasi, Ajmal, and Designer Shaik are known names in UAE for their local manufacturing of inviting fragrances.

Arabs have developed obsessive loves with the fragrances. This reflects in growing sale of premium and mass perfumes. Demands of premium and mass perfumes are expected to touch the mark of AED663.5 million and AED247.9 million by 2014, according to the Euromonitor International. The prospective spends, based on the current sale value, of consumers on beauty and personal care products in the emirates are stunning.

The interest in beauty and personal care products is not limited to females, but male counterparts also spend billions of dirham on men’s grooming products. This segment will spur the growth of beauty and personal industry in UAE in coming days, analysts believe.
