The ladies at last weekend's Logie Awards certainly liked a bit of Alex Perry, and now the women of New York are to get a taste of the Sydney designer's glamour gowns. Influential department store Henri Bendel picked up 10 of the creations he showed at Australian Fashion Week. Perry was ecstatic to strike a deal with the landmark store, which has been Influential in promoting Aussie labels in the Big Apple zentai .


Manolo Blahnik sandals certainly make a sound investment, because you know that it is eternal, you can simply wear on any occasion and any where. These suit form a woman's outline, and also show women's bright colors.

The label, created by sisters Genevieve (a former designer for Lisa Ho) and Alexandra Smart, was one of the most talked-about shows at Australian Fashion Week. It impressed David Jones women's buying general manager David Bush so much he snapped it up for the store.

Also in store are the latest suit from Italian label Bottega Veneta and Californian favourite Zentai.


TRIBUTE TO AN ICON


Manolo Blahnik hopes that people will pay attention to his designed suit not himself. Blahnik suit aims to bring women beauty and elegance not the feeling of pain. He's not a sadist, he did not think beauty comes at a price, as he thinks, comfort is an important aspect to consider in shoe design. He hoped that a woman dressed in her suit will feel like not wearing suit.


One of fashion's most Influential and eccentric characters, Isabella Blow, has died from cancer at 49. A true fashion icon, the former fashion director of British Tatler and The Sunday Times was as famous for her appearance. She is also known for spotting some of fashion's biggest names, including then graduating student Alexander McQueen in 1993. Blow, however, played down the part she played. "His success has been really great for my reputation, because if that hadn't happened, I would have just been an eccentric and gone down the drain," she told Interview Magazine.


AUSTRALIAN PEARLER


A single strand of Broome pearls is expected to fetch up to $1.5 million when spider man costume  it goes on sale in Europe. The strand, with pearls varying in diameter from 18mm to 22mm, was sold by Australian pearl producer and jeweller Autore to a European distributor at the prestigious Basel Jewellery Fair in Switzerland. The name of the buyer, however, remains top secret.
