Theatre Impresario in association with Gatsby presents Nobel Prize Winner Dario Fo's, "The Virtuous Burglar."

Theatre Impresario is the newest entrant to Chennai's rich theatre scene. The founders, Prema Venkateswaran, Weena Pradhan, S Radhakrishnan and Amitash Pradhan, have an objective to bridge the gap between meaningful theatre and the horde of talent waiting to be explored in Chennai.

Their events are theme based and part of the proceeds goes to charity. They will also be conducting theatre workshops, short courses in public speaking, workshops on diction and voice modulation for children and adults.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to the National Association for the Blind (NAB).

Dario FO is a popular and controversial playwright, actor and director, who is internationally acclaimed for his political satires and farces. Fo has led the field in political satire in Europe for over thirty years. The main targets of his ideologically inspired attacks have been capitalism, imperialism and corruption in the Italian government. For performances outside of Italy, he wrote, produced and directed a string of successful "bourgeois comedies"

In this play, directed by V Balakrishnan, a burglar is discovered when the owner of the flat returns unexpectedly with his mistress. When the owner's wife arrives, the burglar is forced to pretend that the mistress is his wife. A profusion of spouses and lovers appear and the burglar — apparently the only one not having an affair — is forced into pretending to have multiple wives. Then his own wife arrives!

The production has an impressive cast comprising of Amitash Pradhan, Sunanda Raghunathan, S Radhakrishnan, Weena Pradhan, Prema Venkateswaran, Mohamed Yusuf and Ujwal Nair.
Music has been scored by the young Anirudh.Design and lights are by V Balakrishnan.
