The Sony Ericsson W595 now comes in a silver colour variant

The Sony Ericsson W595 has been a popular handset for some time, offering a wide variety of useful functionality and features. The handset is compact in size at only 100 mm x 47 mm wide and offers slider phone technology with a lightweight feel. The handset is available in a variety of colours including grey, black and white as well as this recently added silver variant


The Sony Ericsson W595 Silver provides an expressive and colourful screen which is a 2.2 inch TFT display screen, with the capability to display 256,000 colours within the confines of its 240 x 320 pixel screen size, this ensures imagery is displayed with an excellent clarity and vibrancy. The handset provides an accelerometer sensor which amends image orientation. The handset also provides a stereo speakerphone for hands free communication, whilst the available vibration and ring alerts options include the ability to download polyphonic, MP3 and AAC ringtones for a level of individualisation.


The handset provides a Walkman player, which as you would expect from a Sony handset includes track ID music recognition, Sensme and shake control as standard, and offers the usual Sony experience which has become so popular. The units internal memory of 40 MB is supplemented by the inclusion of a 2 GB card which makes use of the integrated memory stick micro card slot. The same card slot can be utilised to increase memory capacity up to 8 GB.


Connectivity is provided by class 10 versions of GPRS and EDGE, in conjunction with blue tooth and USB which are both version 2.0. The integrated HSDPA connection provides internet access at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, which is suitably fast enough to make web surfing an enjoyable experience.


The phone incorporates a 3.15 mega pixel camera which is suitably good enough to take effective imagery for printing out purposes if desired, but also has the added benefit of doubling up as a QVGA quality video recorder which records video at 15 frames per second. Video calling can be conducted with this handset.


The Sony W595 Silver is one of the colour variants available, and as such gives it a fresh appeal. The unit is one that has always been popular since its initial inception however the addition of a colour variant, as with all mobile phones provides a level of individuality that many prefer.
